strange attractor (aka the convulsatorium)
The Strange Attractor - a vertical cylinder composed entirely of programmed, full-spectrum LEDs.
The percipient stands within the cylinder, and it rotates around them while the LEDs are driven with generative, algorithmic patterns, inducing a vertical ascension, varied shapes and patterns, and in some cases, a transcendent experience accompanied by indescribable hypnagogic hallucination, like awakening from a beautiful dream. It has been exhibited at events across the US and internationally. The piece is also known as the Convulsatorium.
